Your questions, answered
Is the actual-expenses option better than the 10% standard deduction?
Often, for crew who spend nights away regularly — but not always: when you choose actual expenses, the hotel nights and allowances paid by your airline must be added back to your income. The app runs the full comparison (for each spouse in the Duo plan) and tells you which option to tick.
How are layover allowances calculated?
With the method of the French tax authority letter used by crew unions: short/medium-haul = number of duty days minus half an allowance (the last night counts one and a half); long-haul = one full allowance per duty day; a day trip = half a Euro-zone allowance. Rates are the official DGFiP rates per country and, where they exist, per city.
Which airlines are supported?
Transavia and easyJet today, Air France next, then the other French airlines. The calculation is the same for every crew member based in France; only the roster format changes.
Is the app available in English?
This page and the simulator are. The app itself is in French for now (French tax forms are in French); an English interface is planned.
